Membership of ANZSSA is available to scientists, technologists, nurses, physicians, researchers and company representatives working in the fields of sleep medicine and sleep research. ANZSSA accepts new members on nomination by two current financial members of the association.
The Membership year will run from 1 July - 30 June and runs on a 12-month cycle. Any new members that join between the months of April - June will pay the full membership fee, however will receive additional months (up to 3 months) of complimentary membership, with their membership expiring in the following membership year.
Payment options for Australian and New Zealand members are VISA, MasterCard credit card transactions or via Direct Debit.
Ordinary Membership
Individuals employed in the field of sleep science (but who are not representatives of, or have financial interest in, sleep-related companies or businesses) who hold an appropriate science degree or equivalent plus 1 year of relevant experience. Application for membership must be submitted via the online form on the ANZSSA website, including relevant evidence of required experience and qualifications. Once approved by the Committee and upon payment of the annual subscription fee an individual shall then be admitted as an Ordinary member.
NOTE: Applicants who do not meet above criteria but were current ordinary members as at 30/6/2012 are eligible for Ordinary Membership.
Associate Membership
Individuals employed or studying in the field of sleep science who do not qualify for other categories of membership. Associate members shall not be entitled to vote. Application for membership must be submitted via the online form on the ANZSSA website. Once approved by the Committee and upon payment of the annual subscription fee an individual shall then be admitted as an Associate member.
Honorary Members
Honorary membership is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the fields of sleep medicine or sleep research or who have made a significant contribution to the Association. An individual shall become an Honorary member after recommendation by the Committee and approval by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. If you would like to nominate someone for Honorary membership, please contact the current Executive to obtain a nomination form.
New members (or members in which membership has lapsed for more than 2 years) can apply for membership using the online form on the ANZSSA website - you will be asked to enter your personal and professional information and create your own unique password. This will become your personal login to the Members Area of the website.
Please use your primary email address when creating your membership profile as you will use this address to login to the member's area of the website and it will be used by the ANZSSA executive for correspondence.
As a new member, your application for membership must be proposed and seconded by two current members of ANZSSA. Enter the ANZSSA membership numbers into the fields provided on the registration page. The membership numbers must be given to you by the actual members endorsing your application.
As part of the application process you are required to submit a current and detailed resume. Within your application there will be a link to our secure online payment form for your membership fee. Upon successful payment; and membership approval; you will receive a confirmation email and link granting you access to the Member's area of the website.
